Welcome to Hillside Hunting

Would like to welcome everyone to Hillside Hunting and glad you took the time to check us out. When starting this hunting club I had a 5 year plan in place for what I wanted to see the future of this club and the quality of deer I would like to see harvested from year to year and how we do our part as wildlife managers. I started this club back in the spring of 2008 and at this time in the late part of the year of 2009 and feel that we have made great strides in our overall progress with the vision that I had first started with. As we are in our second hunting season the quality of animal’s has been noticed with a vast improvement over the past year with good food sources and quality products being used for the best nutrition and care for the wildlife. I look forward to the next couple years as we still work hard on some improvements and with the proper management that has been put in place; we are on track to have some of the best hunting that can be offered in our area. Hear at Hillside Hunting we are working hard to be good manager's of the surrounding wildlife, we work to shoot nothing smaller than 8 point bucks to help the heard to grow and be able to get better quality of bucks for future hunting. If we all work in this area together within 5 years we will have the best hunting that we have ever had in the tri-state area.

First buck of the season

The following picture shows the first shooter taken on the HH grounds. After one of the members worked on the head doing a European mount, as you can see in the below picture.

We took the jaw bone and notice that this deer was only 2 ½ years old. With the nutrition and food source products that we are using to help and manage our wildlife we have seen some vast improvements in body growth and antler growth. I have spent allot of time researching and studying many different products and the nutrition of what deer need and feel I have chosen; what I feel is the best of what I have researched and put it in place and have seen some great improvements.
First turkey on HH

The following picture shows the first gobbler taken on the HH grounds this past spring, this bird had a 10” beard and 1” spurs. This is another example of having the proper food sources in place that not only do the deer benefit from but also is beneficial for the turkeys.

2009 Deer Season

This hunting season has been pretty successful with some nice harvestings taken, we have taken several nice size deer off the club grounds with on guy shooting the biggest doe of the season that weighed around 140 pounds. All the members have seen several deer throughout the whole season and continued to see deer all the way through to the last Saturday of rifle. I am looking forward to the years to come and hope to continue having good quality hunting and proper harvesting to maintain healthy mature whitetails for our future.
