For years, well-known fisherman and avid deer hunter Ray Scott was on the trail of the best forage planting
for his deer herd west of Montgomery, Ala. But every time he asked a fellow hunter, or a university wildlife
biologist or seed specialist, he got a different answer. Some swore by oats, some wheat, and some rye.
In the fall of 1986 a friend recommended that Scott try some clover in his testing.
